Disaster
Recovery
Recovery :
The main purpose is the rapid recovery of IT systems, data and applications.
Data minimization :
It aims to minimize data loss by replicating data in secure locations.
Planning :
A detailed Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) is essential, which defines, among other things, responsibilities, communication channels and recovery procedures.
Recovery goals :
The plan takes into account recovery objectives such as RPO (Recovery Point Objective) and RTO (Recovery Time Objective), which determine how much data loss is acceptable and how long the recovery should take.
Types of disasters:
DR protects against a wide range of events, including natural disasters (fires, floods) and man-made causes (cyberattacks such as ransomware).
